Hoodoo is one of the few on there I actually still dig, most of the album is tedious and cheesy

Back in the day they even appealed to metalheads quite a bit
And since that Twillight soundtrack the fanbase has surely changed

I was surprised, so this was actually a thing that happened? i.e. Muse did a soundtrack for Twilight?

They contributed like 3 songs to the soundstrack: Supermassive Black Hole, I Belong To You and Neutron Star Collusion (to worst out of the three). They got a huge amount of new fans, but also damaged their rep a fair bit

That long ago then, I'd assumed it was one of the later Twilight films. Supermassive Black Hole was actually a decent song as well. I maintain that Starlight was the beginning of the end for them, so maybe I can now change that to anything ending in 'light'

Drones still had some great highlights on it. Dead Inside, Reapers and The Handler are all on par with old Muse for me, and there are some decent songs like Defector. Psycho is at least a good live song and could be good as a studio song, if shortened by at least a minute. Then make it less repetitive and add a new element and you would have a great song

^This pretty much. Drones has some serious issues, but some parts of it are brilliant
