This grew on me an awful lot over the past month. The guitar production is going to keep this from growing into a classic for me I'm pretty sure, but as far as song-writing goes I definitely think this is their strongest album yet. Toss up between this and Fortress for my favorite of their albums at the moment.
From the Sky is just...wow. Good for them. Rody's vocals at the end grated on me the first several times I listened to it but, fuck, what a power piece of music. I'm comfortable calling that the best song they've ever written. Plus, the segue from it into Harborside and All Hands has got to be the strongest stretch of material they've put on an album.

Super difficult album to rank but I think I've settled on the following:
From the Sky
All Hands
Gardenias
The Fireside
Soliloquy
The Migrant Mother
Little Snakes
Reverie
Rivet
The Canary

First three, maybe four songs sit about right, i'd say. The second half of 'Migrant Mother' has still one of the most suitable breakdowns ever. I also get why 'The Canary' gets outpaced by a lot of songs on here, but the groove, bass and transition into it's quieter section just feels sooo good.

Rivet and The Canary are wayyyyy too low on this list. From the Sky is excellent but I can't imagine anything beating All Hands. That's going to be high on my SOTY list, let alone my favorites on this album

I too would put From the Sky and All Hands as my top song on the album, in that order.
But I think think Reverie should be higher in that ranking.

I wonder if Rody got inspired by Silent Planet's Northern Fires for those verses in The Firesde.

My ranking changes daily depending on my mood. It would be foolish of me to try and make a list. That being said,

Anyone else looking forward to the guitar book? I don't know if the band has mentioned anything about if or when they may be releasing it?
I'm 5 songs into Fortress right now. Their songs have always been really fun to play

Rivet is great the chorus is literally 'let's make america great again', most relevant in terms of lyrics imo

It blew my mind when I read on the PTH subreddit that the guitar riff at the end is the same as the intro, but in a major key instead of a minor like the intro.
