I wish I could immediately 4 or 5 this like some of you loafers. Something's just not clicking here... I don't know, I got some time.

This being one of my favorite bands, and knowing how they are... But the onslaught of guest vocals... Ahh, I may turn out a piker here.

It's good music. But Berninger is so drowned out. His type of vibe needs to be on the forefront to have some weight. He's not an aggressive dude... you can't pile on all these other voices with him.

This will definitely take a while to wrap my mind around! I'm treating this as a release from a totally different band, maybe that way I can finally let go of my biases

I'll continue to listen... and see if it turns out to be a beautiful creation that I couldn't see forthright. Seems doubtful at this point. I don't know how you can drown out the best part of you and still make it compelling.

It's a beautiful piece my man, you'll be missing quite a lot.

Music-wise, it took me a week to get around the album and truly get the feel of it, hope that happens to you too.

I do agree with most folk that Where is Her Head is the best tune...but in terms of it being top 10 National? Top 20? Top 40?

It would get into a top 60 but honestly beyond that no. It is a pleasant listen but at a deeper level it does little other than surprise with its positivity and the fact it’s quite different for the band. It reminds me of the sort of change you got when Anathema went posi-Anathema. Or maybe Sigur Ros when they released Gobbledigook.

I’d just worry if it’s considered anything above top 30 by anyone familiar with this band - it barely has any lyrical content, it’s effectively one musical idea, and it sounds more like a lot of other bands who’ve released similar tracks - often better.

That puts my feelings on the album in the context of their incredible discog (which some people seem to have forgotten how good it is?) - the best song here would sneak a top 60. That is this album.

It is the Gobbledigook of their discog. That’s it. Other than of course stating Gobbledigook doesn’t only sound similar - it’s better too.

Disagree hard, Doof. Not feeling your opinion on this album. I like it more and more every time I listen to it. There is at least a couple of top tier Natty songs in here.

Not for me, has two songs that’d make a top 75.

I’m sure of this because yeah, I do have a top 100 National compilation on my iTunes
