I really don't care for it personally, tries to be all brooding and haunting yet is too guitar lead on higher pitches/tones for me to care.

Sitar has it right, Whale And Wasp is somber and beautiful, just what AiC knew how to do best.

Anyone else think this is AiC's best? Definately is mine.

Jar Of Flies and Dirt are tied for best AiC for sure, MTV Unplugged coming right behind. The self titled is pretty amazing as well.

I'm intrested in MTV Unplugged, I'm far intrested in their more sombre and haunting material than their usual grunge stuff.

It's an incredible experience, trust me. Watching the video of the full performance alongside the music is even more astounding, depressingly beautiful. The version of Down In A Hole is fantastic.

"The bassline on Swing on This is my favorite AiC bass part."
That would be the intro of Rain When I Die [2] and Rotten Apple for me.

Yep good tune. Layne is on form. I'm a bit gutted I lost my original copy of this. The 2 CD one with Sap included. Used to blast it and make me mum worried that I was injecting skag.

Unfortunately, I don't own almost any records, don't have the money to go collecting :]
But yeah, this has been on high rotation since I first started listening to it, I haven't lived the decade (only born in '98) but I imagine you're right :]
