i'll be honest, the new singles have me nervous. they seem to have kind of abandoned the more downtempo/trip-hop (i.e. "slow") grooviness of their debut in lieu of a quicker and more kinetic pace. 'A Taste' is really catchy and good in spite of that, but the other two tracks ('Been a While' and 'Someone to Serve') leave a lot to be desired imo, and sound more reminiscent of any number of the female-led ambient pop (emphasis on pop) acts coming out now than the nocturnal hypnotists they proved to be last year.
we'll see in a few days, i guess, but my optimism is now extremely cautious. nothing is stunning me quite like 'I'm Tied To You' first did.

Absolutely.

I'm still optimistic...just maybe not quite as enthusiastic as I once was, considering how much I loved 'First Body'. Then again, I've eaten crow many, many times in the past, so I'll be more than happy to do it once more if it means I can have another Two People album to fawn over.

Ok rejammed it all, I agree the snippet could turn into a real BANGer, my favorite still "A Taste" which I think captures the essence of First Body perfectly.



Dream Steppin' is an interesting new direction, same as Someone to Serve (quickly becoming also a favorite). Been a little while hasn't fully clicked with me yet (sorry Slex).
