witness is definitely more consistent than this record
i do think the highs of this record are a bit higher but there's also a few tracks here i simply don't like where i like everything on witness from start to finish, and i think it's still got a lot of room to grow and resonate
it's clear they wanted to make something slicker, more refined and just focus on their strengths. they nailed that imo - and kept it interesting. despite people thinking fresk and three black claws are the weakest tracks (i don't necessarily disagree), they definitely spice things up.
