The album cover still looks like Hopesfall to me.

I also love the album cover. Almost feel like the cover is so visually pleasing that it biases people towards liking the album (just a little) more than they should

Everyone praises the length of this, but I think it's short length kind of prevents it from having a bigger impact and lessens its staying power.

Good Kid was far more varied, atmospheric, and suitably long in my opinion.

The short length ye album trend is pretty cool but yeah if this was like 40 minutes of the same top notch material this album would be huuuuuge

Album art is some of my fav of 2018 too yeah

Nah it increases the staying power tenfold for me. It’s a lot easier to fall in love with 7 tracks and memorize every last layer of them than a 15 track album. I can’t tell you how many albums I’ve enjoyed but NEVER revisit just because I don’t want to sit through 50+ min of music very often.

If they held this quality at 40 min, then sure, I’d be fine with a longer album. But if even one or two tracks were weaker than the rest of what was here, I’d rather it just stay st it’s bite-size form

These tracks are pretty weak for Kanye. For an artist where every album is like an event, and redefines his sound, this sounds like a big yawn. For maybe the first time ever, Kanye didn't push himself like he did on Yeezus and Pablo. I can't think of a single track here that challenged the creativity of those two. Don't get me wrong, an artist doesn't constantly need to reinvent themselves, but in Kanye's case, well...

after an album like ye, he could've dropped anything and it would be a step in the right direction. same goes for cudi. not exactly a high bar for this one.

"For maybe the first time ever, Kanye didn't push himself like he did on Yeezus and Pablo."

If Pablo is Kanye pushing himself... this album is Kanye creating a whole new genre
