"The Light and the Glass was the final nail in the coffin that lead to me giving this a 5. Such a perfect "closer" to the album, and it came right after I thought the album had used up all of its juice too. To follow up Favor with that was just spellbinding"
Your FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATHER'S DEAD HE PASSED IN HIS SLEEEP
"i should hear this, only heard the camper velourium, which is a pretty cool song"
Camper Velourium could be one of any 3 songs unless you're referring to all 3 as one song but they're all really distinct. Also definitely listen to the whole thing, the front half honestly clears. Title track is an all timer.

First half clears yea, it’s the best run of Coheed discography and has some incredible worldbuilding

Oh shit yeah, forgot it was a suite or whatever on here, was talking about Al the Killer.
Man, the title track on this is nuts. That chorus has been stuck in my head. It’s funny, I honestly don’t know shit about the story they’re telling on these albums but I really do love some of their lyrics regardless. “Man your battle stations, we’ll have you dead pretty soon!”. Ten Speed has also been stuck in my head (“Believer, you’ll leave her in leaving them all. Like anything you do, as anyone you are”) It’s not genius lyricism but a lot of it is just really catchy and makes me curious about the story, which I’m assuming is bad.
Why am I suddenly so into Coheed and Cambria lol I called these guys mid for so many years

The story is all over the place between insane in a cool way and insane in a what in the actual fucking fuck is this corny poopoo way, I've not really kept up with it at all outside of little tidbits and I have the hardback IKSSE comic and haven't even finished reading the whole thing bc it's so kind of bad.
But yeah this has always been such an easy band for people to make fun of without really checking out, their later career is def a mixed bag but Afterman rules and those first 3 albums are just absolute classics.
The IKSSE3 verse riff and drum groove is just one of the hardest shits ever written, so fucking sick. First transition into that from the also incredible intro hits every single time.

The "Pull the trigger and the nightmare stops" bit of Three Evils sounds a lot like the melody in The Suffering "Now listen well will you marry me"

The good thing of this years album is it made me revisit the whole discography.
That and "Searching for Tomorrow". Everything else can be thrown out.
This on the other hand was life changing. Literally changed the relationship me and my dad had. We listened to it together constantly for years and started sharing music every day.

Legitimately contains some of my all-time favorite C&C songs. Just banger after banger. The Velourium suite isn't my favorite and I also love The Light and the Glass so much that I usually just listen to tracks 1-6 then jump to Favor and Light and Glass.

Backend of Forever is one of my favourite Coheed songs.
It's also the one that sounds the most like it could be on the first album.
Underrated.
