Can we agree then that while 'Show Yourself' isn't to everyone's tastes at least it doesn't overstay its welcome or proves a blemish on the album by any means?

It doesn't help that Precious Stones immediately follows it

Show Yourself rules. It's just a weird follow up to Sultan's Curse is all.

I keep switching back and forth between a 3.5 and 4.

Okay this is a lot more interesting than anything I've heard from them post-CtS. Lot more aggression and flair, so I guess it deserves a full listen.

A popular pub in Buenos Aires, usually make nights with bands that have a genre in common or they are related because of a member in one band playing in another one. 3 weeks ago I guess, they made the "tool-mastodon night" and most of the comments were "Mastodon is so gay, tool rules", I want to punch them in the face, or just kill them all.
|
| |
I wrote the same in another review of the album but never mind, just to make you know how annoying the tool fanboys can be.
|
| |
I say it and I'll die saying it: Since I started listening meshuggah, opeth and mastodon, tool has become like a stupid overrated band with a singer that believe he is the chosen one or sth like that.
|
| |
As for the review, some cc: try using a bit more word variety, as you repeat things twice (e.g. heady, mind-bending, massive) a lot, often in quick succession.

Steambreather's main riff is so fucking sludgy, really digging that one currently. The whole thing is worthy of the hype, Ghost.
|
| |
@JayEnder Steambreather is probably the best song on the album
@rodrigo As much as I like Tool, it can be empirically proven that they are infinitely gayer than Mastodon.
