Archers would have been a great closer agreed; but I want Handcuffs on that album too and I'm not sure where else it would have fit.

I really hate it but would accept it as a b-side. Anywho Sowing to echo someone else I want you to know you're a very good boi I don't think I'd have the appreciation for Daisy and maybe even Sci-Fi that I do without you so thanks for being such a nut about the band.

You're welcome, although I can't help it lol. I found out about the band while dating a girl for one week in high school and I always joke that that's the best thing that ever came of our relationship. I fell in love with Deja, then TDAG (and this will sound dramatic) literally gave me a new perspective on life at a time where I was not in a good place at all. Daisy and SF are at the end of the day a product of that appreciation I formed between '05-'07.
I've always appreciated BN's insistence on perfection; they refuse to release albums they are not happy with. As a result, their discography is flawless. Plus, there's just so much in general these guys do that make them fun to follow; their cryptic nature and the way they hide clues for their fans to uncover, the way they revisit lyrics on later albums for fans of their earlier stuff, etc etc.

Handcuffs is so good I don't understand the hate for it. Bed is ok, definitely not deserving of all the hate

Can someone please explain the appeal of Bed to me. As a huge Brand New fanboy I still don't get it.

To me, it's super mellow and pretty, but at the same time it's menacing and eerily seductive.
Like luring someone to death with promises of love

I agree about the eerie atmosphere and Bed doesn't break that vibe, but it doesn't really help make it the way 'Be Gone' or 'Noro' does.

tbh, I often find the tracks by BN that I like the least being the ones that out of nowhere pop into my head at random times. For example I've been listening to a lot of BN recently and the only tracks that pop into my head out of nowhere when I'm mindlessly thinking are "Bed" and "No Control". pretty odd.

Well glad I'm not alone then. But it makes me think that maybe I don't dislike those songs as much as I thought I did, idk.

Yeah I love Bed tbh. Jesse's vocals could make any song enjoyable. Also, the melody in the chorus is so eerie and pretty

Neeka pretty much nailed it. Also the lyrics, while simple, are fun. And the little double snare tap in the chorus always gets me for some reason

Wow... What a great review. I do believe this was such a good review that it makes an already fantastic album more interesting. Now I'm looking forward to re-listening with fresh perspective.

Glad you liked it. The atmosphere and lyrics here definitely tell a story; without that aspect this album isn't nearly as alluring.
