No No, don't judge, be my friend smoke some bud

Yes, I agree with that. The sloppiness of the alt rock slope Cudi is placing his bets on during the first disc's runtime appeals to me a lot. Some of it is reminiscent of lo-fi bedroom music or midwest emo, other parts are very garage punk-inspired and throw flavors of hip-hop and experimental onto the mix. I wouldn't say it's fascinating, but it flashes some great results at certain points. Embers is a particularly wonderful track. Yeah, I said it. Wonderful. Sorry, guys.

Cudi had some decent stuff here and there.
but this album does nothing right.
at least this is so bad it's funny.
unlike miley's album; which is just boring

I think it succeeds here and there on some aspects and tracks. I wouldn't say it's as bad as critics and listeners are making it out to be. I found it enjoyable. But anyway, it's just my opinion. OutKast's Andre 3000 recently said he loves this album and that this is one of the most forward thinking things that came out in a long while. That was an interesting take.

Oh, and WZRD is far worse than SB2H. Now that is an awful record.
|
| |
I'm not saying those 3stax quotes didn't happen...but I wouldn't fancy either Cudi or Andre as authorities in whatever this genre is. Maybe it's forward thinking if you've never heard a distorted guitar, for example. Or maybe to someone who was previously deaf and was unfortunate enough to have this be the first sound they hear.
Anyway I'm just speculating.

I can get where he comes from. Like or dislike Speeding Bullet 2 Heaven, nothing sounds quite like it - for better or for worse. And... Andre 3000 is an authority in hip-hop, man. He's gotta be one of the best to ever do it. I wouldn't put Big Boi on that high pedestal, but Andre definitely. Not saying his perception of the album is more worthy than others' but it was nonetheless an interesting take on it.

I'd actually argue WZRD is a better album than this. and I can kinda see where you are coming from but this album is just far too long and too messy/awful for me to even think about giving it a better score than a 1 or even 1.5

Andre is certainly a hip hop authority, I agree.

The only decently good song on here is the title track and even that one feels like it overstays its welcome.
|
| |
I actually thought the title track is one of the worst songs on the first disc. Eh.

this is more like it
