plane pretty much nailed why I was afraid to rip into this album right away. It's not sexy and that can be subconsciously a negative when it comes to female artists, especially in pop. I kind of have to recognize that bias (which I assume women have about male artists as well but that doesn't make it better when we're trying to be relatively objective).



But I still hate how most songs on here are major key pop nonsense with really bad production. If it was a male artist, I probably wouldn't have given it a second listen. It's no coincidence, though, that one of my favorite songs on here is easily the sexiest (scream) but even it is heavily marred by bad execution. So at the end of the day, I don't feel bad for hating this album, despite that admittedly part of the reason I hate it is because she infused it with a really obnoxious personality.

Who the fuck cares if it's sexy or not, it's bad. Besides, for me personally I've never found mainstream pop to be very sexy, just utterly shallow.
