definetely a limit when it comes to lyrics

religious/christian lyrics arent inherently bad, i like some and hate other. abr's doesnt bother me because theyre quite tame

few other core bands who are a bit preachy and stupid irritate me

When it comes to preachy lyrics, I would think some people would take them for romantic songs at times.

yeah lyrics have always been pretty good from abr

in any case lyrics affecting your perception of a musician despite their actual composition is fairly stupid (aside from music that puts lyrics as its focal point)

What does that even mean?

My perception of a musician despite their actual composition?

scenario:

Well I agree with you to an extent I guess but if I wrote a really kickass song with sweet riffs and I all sung about was raping and murdering your entire family you prob wouldn't dig. so yeah lyrical content does matter, if you choose to look passed it and enjoy than good job but I don't see how it's stupid to not enjoy something because of it's message

generally, it's pretty lame to not listen to a band based on lyrics.

child raping themed music (which I'm not sure exists) would be an exception to this rule but it's not a very strong point at all

"child raping themed music (which I'm not sure exists)"

Go look at the bands he name dropped earlier and while my example is a bit extreme it still proves a point if you do in fact actually care about the lyrics if you don't then cool.

I'm not a lyric fanatic or anything but its sounds funny to me that some y'all care so little about what the song is actually about and just listen to it cause you think the musicianship sounds cool.

Ironic that atheism can come across as "preachy".
