No. I download from mediafire, mega etc whatever comes up in the google search. I never tried sites like soulseek, whatcd etc. A few days after I joined sputnik, I found these sites. Didn't have time to learn how to operate them

I just learned how to use it and it's actually really easy! I got the album! :D I just have one question. Do you need to share files like is it a must?

No you're not obligated but many users tend to block people who try to download from them without sharing files themselves, understandable since the software has been long built upon an ethic of sharing

Ah looks like I got banned on my first day :| when I clicked download folders, a message came from the user saying before downloading his I should share some of my music. I can't actually share music as I don't buy CDs. I can share but I will have to steal other's uploads which I really don't want to do so.

you don't get banned per se, but if a user disables his stuff for download, just move on to another person who has their stuff available.

Thanks for clearing my confusion guys! I just dug out some rare albums from my music folders which hasn't been uploaded by anyone there. I will uplpoad them just to be on the safe side!
