Eh, this was always a suitable swan song for em. Arrive is a great sendoff for their goofy lil discog

agreed, perfect discog ending.
Let's just all forget the last ep
|

The EP was actually a pretty surprisingly strong return to form?
Only shitty thing was how they immediately disappeared again.

Given how long it was since they had done anything, it could've been a lot worse. The 2 new songs hold up fine against their older albums but not really this one

Ye I'd agree with that, my expectations were definitely 0 and I definitely got a couple of songs that sounded like HtB and were enjoyable.

oh man I was just thinking about how sick it would be to see these guys come back for some shows, I never got a chance to see them back in the day. Insane discog honestly looking back

how did they do this

it's a fuckin masterpiece in every sense of the word. honestly so underrated in the larger context of metal/metalcore
i think the nintendocore aspect might render it less credible in some people's eyes. but not us. we see the genius

I really wanna like this but I always think about how Horse the Band hate the band chiodos for doing cheesy breakdowns with poppy melodies when they do exactly that in this album.

nah, not the same thing

Chiodos have aged like milk while this is fuckin awesome

| |
Album Rating: 5.0
chiodos were ok but never that good they just fit in the scene well at the time and craig had a legion of fans defending his ridiculous vocals that have indeed aged like milk by now. This is on such a higher level of confidence and execution that I really don't see any parallels
|
| |
there's also the satirical aspect to consider as well. These guys were always pretty tongue-in-cheek, but this album in particular goes in and violently skewers all the tropes of the late 2000s metalcore scene
