production on blacktop is so much better than ToT tho it had character

Shit yeah, new single is cool. This is still the only album of theirs I revisit.

Apparently this album was inspired mostly by wine, cigarettes, and speed. Oh, and suffering.

Lmao can't get over that song title
Yeah Bernie Sanders is a weird track, not sure how I feel either. Music video is intensely dark and awesome though.

music video is honestly better than the song lolll. hope it’s the worst track on the album
|
| |
they -really- didn’t have to call this song bernie sanders though it’s about them being lost in japan

Funny comment chain I stumbled across on yt on what the song is about.
some guy: Nothing's Dominic Palermo says, "Originally, it was about being lost in Japan… both figuratively, and literally. While searching relentlessly for an answer, you typically find yourself unearthing deeper meaning and often prompting more questions. By the end of it all you don’t even know if you were ever lost at all or if you were exactly where you were supposed to be the whole time. I really don’t even know what it means anymore."
some other guy: Well that clears up absolutely nothing, but thanks!

I like the new track, it's fairly different for the band

it starts then goes literally no where. relies too heavy on Dom's vocals which yall already know how I feel about. Kyle's drumming continuously dumbed down to more and more with each release, from creative time signatures/fills to background rhythm on loop. only plus side so far is the production of the 2 songs are lightyears better than DOTBT

sucks to think I'll never feel the same way about a Nothing album like I do this one, and I hope I'm wrong.
seems like Nick Bassett was a bigger player in their sound than just the dude who played bassed

maybe you'll like it better in the context of the whole album. I really think this will be their best since GOE, but I suppose we'll just see. and yes, rip bassettboi

yaya i'm garbo with singles. maybe this is like Ohms and they released their opener and closer, and it just sounds weird out of context

You didn't think Say Less was a good song? Imo that's the best thing they've done since GOE or the Whirr split
