I read that most of the drum parts were already written, so Adler just "re-enacted" Moe's stuff. And I can feel that, because the drum work sounds similar to Fortress/Scurrilous stuff.

I thought Adler would add a little bit more of his style.

He really didn't do anything out of the ordinary that the last drummer did. He pretty much stuck to the formula. Not saying he sucked because I really enjoy Adler's drumming but he just did his job really and that was it.

I'm not going out and calling it false prog but to label it straight up prog is just not right. It's metalcore/mathcore with elements of progressive metal. I know people will quickly say mathcore is not a genre but whatever.

their first two albums were like progressive metal mixed with mathcore and hardcore punk (more so on kezia). this sounds more like post hardcore

Kayla Howran does vocals on tracks 1 and 2 and the rest of the female vocals are from Jadea Kelly

Plus it's super hard to get insightful discussion going with metal heads, for whatever reason.

I don't know if it is just metalheads in general or metalheads on the internet.

Peoeple tend to be a bit more respectful in person.

Respectful, yes, but I still rarely see people who enjoy metal trying to understand why they dig it so much. And anytime you may say you dislike a part of the music, and explain why, the other person will more than likely just say "well, I like it," which is incredibly frustrating for someone who wants to discuss the merits of the music.

I guess people take metal at face value more, and as a result, half of the comments about it are akin to "this SLAYS but fuck the interludes on the album, seriously." Nobody seems to care about the artists behind the music, which can make reviewing heavier music an absolute bore-- because the origins of the music are really important to me, and yet I often feel I'm the only one that cares about them.
