'like for three of their albums they just said fuck it, skull with wings.'
lol

Well pretty much every artwork is a skull with wings. The Stage is just a spacey colourized version of the deathbat and both Nightmare's and City of Evil's "main character" has the skull and wings features. StST has a transparent deathbat too since the first reissue

They should have used the vinyl cover for the CD as well. This one is just lazy.

I’m listening through this now for the first time. Only three tracks in and felt like saying something just because the dip in quality across the opening three is just hilarious to me. Shepard of Fire is actually pretty dang fun, The t/t is an okay head bobber but that’s about it, and Doing Time is just awful af.

The whole thing is awful iirc

Well I only got two songs left and gotta say this sucks but I still like it more than CoE. Just because it’s a substantially easier listen than CoE. This is bland as hell, but at least it’s not 70 minutes. That and the vox aren’t quite as painful here

Second half is somewhat more interesting than the first, and the production here is legitimately the best part.

Nah the production here is solid as fuck. It's a shame the album's as underwhelming as it is, because this is a shining example of how to produce a modern metal album.
