I've only listened to the record onces, but I have to give this album a "good" rating based on production alone. Justin Meldal-Johnsen produced a dynamic listening experience. I'm not sure the songs hold up to the production, and I think the diversity of styles makes for an oddly fragmented record. But I'm willing to give this one a few more listens.

Ain't It Fun makes this album worth listening to alone.

Edgy contrarianism. You generate that traffic.

'Anklebiters' is oddly ironic
'Why you wanna please the world/and leave yourself to drop dead?'
-chimes in paramore, who change with the seasons
nah butt. The instrumentin' is decent, and quite fun as they try out different styles, but the lyrics and Hayley's singing is just disjointed and incredibly forced and awkward.
I was going to give it a higher score that 2 until I remembered this is paramore and they could be doing so much para-more.
...Lazy could be the word? However, if you don't analyse it too deeply and just accept it for what it is, it's decent fun.

It would be cheesy even if they weren’t singing something as ridiculous as “Don’t go cryin’ to yo’ mama, ‘cuz yo’ on yo’ own in the real world.” But that is indeed what they’re saying, and I don’t want to talk about that song anymore.
LOL

Stylistically different, but not bad. Of course they're going to take a new direction after the Farros' departure. They'd be stupid not to. And I doubt they want to sound the same. Lots of great songs to sing along to, some not so great, but overall one of my fave albums atm.
But this is coming from someone who just did not like Brand New Eyes at ALL. So what do I know.

I personally think this is an excellent album. Just delete the following tracks:
5. Interlude: Moving On
11. Interlude: Holiday
14. (One of Those) Crazy Girls
15. Interlude: I'm Not Angry Anymore

Really misleading review.

2.6... the album is not THAT bad, it has some fun songs.

Judge the brand-new-Paramore under Punk Album Review category was a mistake... I'd give them a 4.5 in Pop category.
