Storm of the Light's Bane pulls it off, why not this? Empty sounding can be a good thing, but here it's not my thing. (all my opinion)

and I like how there was very little black metal blueprint back then and they still (apparently?) just popped out a definitive bm record without even knowing what it was supposed to sound like.
"It's all evil and lo-fi and got tremolololos and like this thrash drum beat that you do over and over a lot. Got it? Cool, let's write dat album."
