This and Terria are both incredibly brilliant, but in slightly different ways. And City of course is a masterpiece in another way. This album's sort of "deeper" I think, and moodier.

Yeah there's definitely some stuff that's sub par. I don't even think Devin likes Deconstruction, he felt it was an album he "had to make" so it might've been a bit forced. When his stuff comes from the heart, it's gold.

Deconstruction is essentially an album best summed up by that one line in Shitstorm from Alien "If you want crazy, if you want FUCKING CRAZY, I'll show you how to be crazy!" People wanted him to go back to crazy music so he just went completely OTT and said "happy now? We're done."

I like pretty much all his solo albums save for Ziltoid the Omniscient. I do feel some of his recent material is a little too "goofy" at times, but whatever.
