Lamb is too mainstream, probably agree with your yes and rush point, however of their own records those are the best in my opinion. I guess I vote as if the best from each band is their 5 album, may need to rethink that and give everybody's best a 4 if they are not in my top 20 , but it is hard to narrow down to a top 20, to much good stuff out there over the years.

I generally lean towards prog that is more focussed on song writing than proggy instrumentation when it comes to my favourites in the genre. The Lamb is the band's strongest album songwriting wise and also has some of my favourite musicianship from the band. I think it benefits from being more refined compositionally and instrumentally.

Agree, I like Lamb, But am a sucker for long complicated jamming, LAmb is more of a rock opera type piece. I'm easy, I like it all, for different reasons. Which is why I love the Grateful dead, because it gives me it all, proggy jamming, folk and bluegrass, straight forward rock, jazz. Maybe that is where my tastes come from.

The Lamb almost feels like a prog pop album at times. In a really good way.

The standouts on here are classic prog tracks.

But yeah check The Lamb, it's better.
