I’m honestly disappointed that they never got anywhere near making something as good as this album. I can only hope they do someday.

What I wouldn't do to get the tabs for that awaken intro. Those two chords are absolute melancholic beauty.

well your takes auto-comment themselves lol, disc is 12 year old, band pretty much was at the forefront of djent, their first EP is from 2009. the rest, if anything, copied them. They anticipated all the other ambient "djenty" bands and had a wall of sound live that really was fantastic, guy is the closest timbre to Garm in metal, could growl for days, riffs still bang
Interpol going djent is just confusing, where the f... do you hear interpol in this lol - sometimes man, I wonder why I even argue on this site instead of like, enjoying stuff
I see hawks you have been shitting on this disc for years, so I guess your dedication in resurrecting threads about decade old discs from a band that has not been relevant in an equivalent amount of time is... commendable?
brb jamming this steaming pile of shit again, Frost/Hail/Awaken combo still rip

Interpol is a bit of a stretch. But it still feels like half the band wanted to sound like the Dave Matthews band and the other half wanted to be Periphery. The vox sound like soccer mom rock but the riffs have more chugging than a frat house. Their whole identity is an uneven structure.
