i think havin a new bassist and drummer will be a nice change in formula from deflorate and ritual

Yeah, I hope they get a drummer that's a bit more creative that Lucas. I like Shannon, but his playing gets really boring at times. I'm curious to see if they add more songs like Blood in the ink. I like the song, but it's definitely not my favorite off of this.

Ryan Knight was a nice addition, so maybe the new instrumentalist will help the composition formula. But I thought the bassist was the unsung hero of the group.
Always loved the drummer. Though he was nothing much in the way of creative innovation, he was an excellent drummer.

I had no idea they lost their drummer and bassist. Whaaaaaaaaat? I liked the bassist.

and the award for most pointless comment goes to RosaParks

Still don't get why people think this is their best. Both Nocturnal and Miasma are better imo.

Miasma is my least favourite album by them

I showed Carbonized in Cruciform to a friend and he said it sounded very cradle of filth-ish. Probably a gay comment, but you can't deny the black metulz in taht song

I thought "On Stirring Seas of Salted Blood" came off in a very, Gojira-esque manner.
I haven't listened to Nocturnal in years, but last I heard I wasn't overly fond. It's been so long my
opinion will undoubtedly change whenever I give it another spin. I really loved this though. Easily my
favorite, with Deflorate right behind it.

I feel like On Stirring Seas of Salted Blood they just wanted to slam as hard as possible

And see this and Deflorate are my least favorites, albeit still good. I just love their earlier works, but their earlier works are how I got into them.

Understandable. Deflorate and this were what got me into the band. Funny how that works sometimes, haha.
I do recall the days before Ryan Knight being very rhythmically based, which I've come to appreciate a lot more in recent times. I'm really going to need to listen to their older material again soon, and get a more updated opinion.

I got into them right after Miasma came out and I still love that album because I've been listening to it for an eternity and nostalgia and shit, but it just doesn't compare to anything that came after it.
