No white man had over been as soulful and powerful as Plant was. Like, if you took Jeff Buckley (approx 30 years later, lol) and combined him with Marvin Gaye, or something.

I don't think I've ever heard anything negative about Plant either

"Bucks isn't nearly ballsy enough for a lot of zep"
Ironic considering how Plant sounds like he has no balls a lot of the time, hehe
"btw I was taking a shot at you having an unbelievable boner for all things Floyd but it seemed to fly straight over your head and now it's not funny"
It didn't fly over my head I got it but I just didn't bother to react, I mean it's not like it was insulting or anything

SgtPepper knows.

"Bucks isn't nearly ballsy enough for a lot of zep"

Agreed, he'd be nowhere near as good for Zep as Plant was.

I don't get how you dislike Plant and how he stops you from enjoying the band!

Just reading your conversation and the only singer I would imagine on Zep besides Plant is David Byron probably. The dude could sing everything.

Of course Ian Gillan to me is better than Plant but very rarely do I include Purple in our conversations because of my fanboyism obv.

Rowan's taste in vocalists is perplexing at times.

Gillan is up there with Plant yeah but he wouldn't have suited Zep's sound anywhere near as well as Plant imo.

Also, good shout with Byron but I still can't imagine him rivalling Plant when it comes to singing Zep songs.

lol Rowan this is all about one thing; I can't imagine anyone singing Zep's songs better than Plant. That's ONE thing I can't imagine, not "so many things". :D

Agreed. Gillan, Byron and Plant's common characteristic is their versatility but it's hard to think of a different frontman singing classic material from those bands. I mean Dio did it with Sabbath and even though he's a better singer than Ozzy the songs just weren't as good.
