This could have been a great album but the production value is terrible. What were they thinking? The melodies buried beneath the mix sound delightful but the $ clearly wasn't there.

this album rips, well maybe not the whole album but a lot of it, and it really influenced me during my peak of musical production when I was like 15 lol so I like it a lot. it's mostly the yearning melodies he creates, like "suicide dream 2" jeez or "decisions" double jeez, and the way they're balanced out by a production environment that straddles softness/sparseness and aggression uncannily ("suicide dream 1," " ready for the world"). i've never really checked out his other stuff but the first song on the album that's a close-up on his face is really good, and even though the production is completely cleaned up it's good in the same way this is good. guy knows how to yearn

im kind of unsure of what to think of this these days--a bit more do I get the sense that it's a guy pretending to be michael jackson or what-have-you over shitty production--but it was hugely influential to me in 2010 and tbh prob still fire. the first four tracks; the last two

the percussion on "ready for the world" is so good, the variable volume of the claps

I just realized that the refrain of "can't see my own face" is just that of beyonce's "deja vu"

this definitely grew off me over the years but ready for the world and my body are still really neat
