That is stupid and undermines the concept of subjective opinion, the only basis an album can be really rated upon (since this is about opinion and opinion only, not about how influental the album was or whatever). I honestly can't stand this album and the 2 I gave it is more than it deserves. Does sputnik think it will get a shitload of troll ratings if it was allowed to give it anything below 2?

Sigh.
Sure, I understand. People are dicks.
But I'm still annoyed to no end. The music is so generic and the lyrics are a joke. This is usually lauded for its confessional and honest lyrics, but there's plenty of confessional music that actually carries some poetic poignancy and doesn't sound like a diary entry from a whining 13 year old. I certainly don't agree with the unanimous praise this recieves, or get why it has been elevated to landmark album status.
I don't think I am alone with this opinion either. I bet the 1.5's and 1's this would recieve if you were allowed to would be genuine and not troll ratings. Because I've seen just as many people detesting it as celebrating it.
But whatever. Fuck opinions.

I don't doubt Rivers was going through a rough spot when he wrote this, or disbelieve that the lyrics are a true testament of his thoughts and feelings at the time. I just happen to think it sounds awful.

I mean, the album Pleasureman by Günther currently holds a score of 4.3, the majority of the ratings being 5's, all of them ironic because that album is like the closest you can get to being objectively shitty. While I find this funny, I also find it inconsistent, because why would you be able to give horrible albums perfect scores but not be able to give lauded albums bad scores?
