haha yeah another weird comparison. 11 11 reminds me alot of the silversun pickups. ill have to check out natalie portman also.

Natalie Portman is pretty much Live From the Stage but 8 minutes rather than 5, it rules hard. Never listened to the Silversun Pickups but I just love Rob Crow's vocals and the melodies they're so damn nice. Check out "Kool-Aid Party" with Mike Patton as well.

and yeah portman is better than the album version agreed harder than most really hard stuff like rocks and such

That's cool man, yeah I have heard them and not a big fan of either. Crosses was alright and Prurient was a damn good song but they just felt like a cheaper version of Team Sleep and Palms was just plain boring.

Lol yeah I told you so they have so much good demo stuff that didn't get released

i just downloaded palms last night still havent given it a fair listen yet so idk. obv team sleep is his best side project though from what ive heard

Eh he just doesn't do anything with his vocals in it, there's some good moments but overall it's just boring. The Team Sleep album can stand up to the very best of Deftones imo and if he spent more time on the project in general I would probably like them more than Deftones.

yeah team sleep is pretty rad but this album makes me feel team sleepy compared to albums like s/t, white pony, and wrist.

Yeah that's probably why I dig this so much, SNW is still my favourite 'Tones though.

Album Rating: 3.5
yes snw is easily their most diverse and emotional record. Combat is easily my favorite deftones track. song is very underrated and i honestly do not understand that with how much of a beast it is. has a really interesting song structure, easily the best chorus on the album.

Yeah Combat is fantastic although I'd have to say Xerces is my favourite from that album and my favourite Deftones track too, it's just so emotional. Everything there is fantastic except Pink Cellphone and maybe Rats! Rats! Rats! though.
|
| |
Album Rating: 3.5
yeah xerces is a good track. rats is definitely a grower but its decent and i dont mind pink cellphone. it has a really nice groove to it.

The last minute or so of Pink Cellphone is just so fucking stupid I can't handle it. Before that it's decent I guess.
|

Album Rating: 3.5
the only thing i dont like is that it kind of messes with the flow of the album. going from rats, to that, then to combat. the first time you hear it you are like what the fuck is this?
|
| |
Album Rating: 3.5
but then again think about it this way. if they were to put another softer track between the two, it would feel kind of weird since you just had like 4 softer melodic tracks in the first half, that would kind of be overdoing it. and if you were to put another heavier track between the two and combined with kimdracula, that would also mess with the flow.

| |
Album Rating: 4.5
Yeah that's a good point, the tracklisting on SNW could've been better.
|
| |
Album Rating: 3.5
yeah i mean its just if you think about it, the album doesnt always flow as nicely as other material such as kny or s/t. but in terms of standout tracks i feel snw is easily the best.
