I mean, he warmed up to it later, but I think at first he mentioned he didn't like how it sounded compared to the rest of the album, going as far as thinking about destroying the tapes. At least, that's how I remember it.

I've always heard that he viewed Rainbow In The Dark as sounding too pop for his liking.

Something like that, yeah. He wasn't too fond of how it sounded, and it took his bandmates to convince him to finally go through with putting it on the album.

I may have not jammed this in a proper way back when I had it rated.

Regardless, I have it without rating now.
