Album is great and House of Leave is a decent novel but if you want a more serious take on the "book within a book" format kind of deal read the novel Danielewski ripped from by Nabokov - "Pale Fire"

First off, you're all morons and are more than likely half deaf and listen to Lady Gaga also. This is this worst excuse for an album, and biggest let down I've heard in years. It's just mainstream bs honestly. Circa sold out PERIOD! I've come to terms with it. I will just savor the greatness of The Inuit Sessions, Juturna, and On Letting Go (by far their best album). "You treat me like I'm a disease, oh and its been killing me" yeah go jizz your pants scene kids. Go listen to Hawthorne Heights while you're at it.

Translating the Name> OLG> Juturna> BSN (distant last)

God tier: Fever Dreams, Compendium
Mid tier: everything else
Shit tier: I Felt Free, The Longest Mile

This isn't bad music.... it's just not anywhere close to what it could have been. It's inconsistent, the writing is weak in a lot of areas, and Anthony couldn't hit shit for notes in Chapel Hill two months ago.

I'm probably going to get flamed for this post, but seriously - we love Circa for a reason; this album "evolved" their sound by stripping out a lot of the things that made them so unique to begin with. I don't really care about "selling out" (or even accuse them of it), I just want Circa to produce good music. This is significantly worse than what should have been a masterpiece after a 2.5 year wait. I would consider this album good from any other band, but I hold Circa to a higher standard. For all of the longtime listeners, I guarantee you feel the exact same way.

Basically, I thought Circa was going to fulfill all the potential that Saosin showed such a long time ago. It doesn't look like that is going to happen, not with this album or in the future.

Blue Sky Noise has become weirdly depressing for me. Please tell me there are others out there that feel the same way. I'm sick of the masses.

Idk how people can like other Circa but not this, it's not quite as great as their older stuff, but if the progression on this album doesn't please you, you aren't listening hard enough. Shit rules.

Edit: and the Translating the Name comparisons should stop, Circa Survive doesn't even sound anything like Saosin tbh.

Saosin sucked dick, and this blows all of CS's preceding releases out of the water.

Satellite :c
Translating was awesome, but that was a different band altogether, and ranking them against CS albums is pretty dum.

I agree with Kbert, though I'd probably add the longest mile above the mid tier. So damn catchy.

No question that "selling out" is a thing, and it still happens, but citing Blue Sky Noise as an example of Circa doing it is preposterous. It just shows an unwillingness to accept the progression that Circa made on this album. Without checking, I bet whoever said that didn't like On Letting Go and probably loved Juturna.

yeah this is prty good but I do think Juturna was better.

Even if you don't look back be sure to find out who was there, what they want...

thats whats funny about it. Same dude said he loved On Letting Go and Juturna. If you liked both of their previous albums there is literally no reason to not like this unless your tastes have drastically changed or you just want to be a whiny cunt on an internet forum.

I disagree, I think this is a reasonably large change in sound for the band. I find it hard to imagine someone who wouldn't at least somewhat like this, but fans of their first 2 albums could easily be disappointed IMO.

I'm a fan of all 3 though, with OLG being the low point for me.

I was constantly amazed by Circa's first two albums, this one, not so much.
