I just feel like with the first two Damon was trying to capture something that he never was able to and Plastic Beach is the closest he's gotten to what's in his head. Demon Days was fucking close though. And so was Gorillaz. Specific songs of Demon Days definitely fulfilled the vision in his head.

Either they wanted to over-compensate with the blur (hehe) effect or Murdoc has a huge fucking penis

I think the album's concept is gonna be about all the members of the band (except murdoc, maybe) getting possessed judging on the music video. That kinda concept makes way for the kind of political/racial stuff you hear on Vince Staple's track while also following a story of some sort.
