Actually a lot of DEP reminds me of Indiana Jones... Maybe I'm just crazy.

Prophet, good call haha. But why would such a progressive act stop innovating? I really see nothing new in this album

I Wouldn't If You Didn't is still my favorite. But Gold Teeth On A Bum, Farewell Mona Lisa and Chinese Whisper are all fantastic. Fuck it, entire album is fantastic.

An album doesn't always have to be new to be awesome. I understand when a whole discography is the same that it gets boring. But think about just about any good album. Hardly any album has a different sound track by track (I'm sure someone could think of one/some). So if it's okay for a band to create an album full of material that's the same, why not two? It's really just some more tracks that could have been on the same album.

And especially with DEP. Consider the fact that Ire Works and Option Paralysis could have fit on one CD. I really don't think it's fair to consider this bad because you "see nothing new". Especially when Ire Works was the album considered a let down by many. It would be stupid to explore new ideas when working on Ire Works but release an album that was unimpressive and then move onto a different sound because that sound had already been explored, even if the final result was disappointing.

I know this was a huge rant and I'm not targeting you specifically (if you even know who you are), but I see the whole "didn't change their sound enough" thing a lot and I just really don't get it and don't think it's a fair criticism (with a few exceptions).

I thought it was cool. Surprised me that they seemed like pretty cool people but also intellectually sound. IDK I guess I thought to release albums as aggressive as they have they'd have to be a little off but they seemed like really cool dudes that I could hang with.

Yeah, I saw that interview a few days ago and was like wtf is DEP doing on Fox news? Its pretty awesome, but Fox doesn't seem like the type of network that would endorse this band haha.
