Talons I was suggesting Brock was appropriating extra wackiness with all the spoken word and 'dancehall, dancehall' stuff.
Camilo, a '3' is about right for 'really liking' 5 songs, quite liking a bunch more, and not much rating the remainder. In terms of actual songs this is an 11 or 12 track album, lots of segues and whatever make up the rest, so those 5 songs are pretty much half the album. It's a genre I like, a band I like and the album hangs together ok with a few standout moments.

"That trilogy of World at Large, Float On and Ocean Breathes Salty is pretty damn killer tbh" [2]
Yeah exactly. Two of those are two of the best songs MM has EVER made. Nothing on Dead blows me away such as those. Plus this has Bukowski which is another all time best.

All those songs are indeed stellar, along with Good Times. They closed the concert I went to with that one, perfect encore.

I felt like this album had good stand alone tracks but not too much of a central theme. It was recorded during a time of turmoil for MM. I remember reading an article around when this came out saying that Isaac and Jeremiah in particular were a mess and that they spent roughly 4 months getting drunk and playing Dancehall over and over. Shortly after Jeremiah left the band. Honestly, I was surprised it was as good as it was.
