I actually can accept the fact that some people find it less varied and more one paced than Alligator and Violet, however, its their best lyrically and its an album that truly came about at the right time in my life. I think its their best album and prolly my favorite ever. BUt I understand when people like this and Violet better.

IMO, Alligator > Sad Songs > Boxer > High Violet > The National.
