Best metalcore band in a sea of dogshit

It's either Unearth or ETID. I tend to lean ETID for consistent 8.5/10 albums starting with Hot Damn! and lasting until their demise, but The Oncoming Storm and arguably Watchers of Rule is better than any given ETID imo. They are also the only band that can hang with ETID live.

Jesus Christ I forgot about ETID. Drugs and alcohol are a hell of a drug

Yeah man this was (and is) otherworldly good. Just hits such a sweet spot. Obviously the guitars are unreal but Justinian's drumming and Trevor's performance are fucking perfect too. They'll probably never get due credit, even if all their copycats are willing to give them props.

No Unearth is better than Radical.

Great album for sure but I'd take at least 4 ETID albums over this

This and Watchers of Rule are peak metalcore.
There are probably a couple ETID albums I'd take over both, but ETID lands much further on the hardcore end of the spectrum, so it's hard for me to compare the two bands. They take very different approaches to the genre.

Yeah it may well be the reason I have always held this above ETID, besides always declaring ETID the GOAT metalcore band. I mostly dislike the more hardcore end of the spectrum.

I'm the exact opposite, I prefer hardcore-leaning and more traditional metalcore over most of the melocore stuff. Unearth really balances them both amazingly on this record tho

This and In the Eyes of Fire are amazing.
