"I've listened to RiP, and actually own it. I think this is a lot better. I always liked RiP but I do think it has more filler tracks and Daves voice is really annoying on a lot of the songs. I think this is a more solid effort and has much better guitarwork."
You're pretty funny man

Ewww. As A guitarist, Rip shits all over this guitarwise.

Endgame is thrashtastic...I initially thought it was nothing more but repeated listens revealed songwriting I can get behind. Excellent, but never hitting the emotional highs instrumentally, or vocally of the classics with Marty Friedman.

Lunarfall thats not true, Slayer have released some good material this decade.
World Painted Blood is an interesting listen with a lot less drop B chug slayer.
Christ Illusion was sort of a return to "roots" but the annoying drop B tuning was too unslayeyish
And God Hates was well...rather a bit inconsistent.

Listened to this some. Good CD but not great as the old Friedman era as others alluded to. Mustaine and Broderick are both good and write good solos but Friedman was on another planet. Mustaine has improved a lot and sounds like he has taken a lot of cues from Friedman. Good to hear Megadeth trying to get back to their thrash roots. Better than Countdown to Extinction, wish I had heard this instead of CtE when I was a kid, 'cause that was a huge letdown from Rust In Peace, let me tall ya'!

I just really think this album has much better guitar work than RiP. Sorry but I do. RiP doesn't have bad guitar work but it's pretty sloppy on some of the songs and yes his voice is annoying on a lot of the tracks. I may not have the original version but if those demo tracks included are of any indication on how his voice originally sounded on the album, I'm glad I have the remastered version.

Sometimes Dave sounds like an asthma patient that still smokes. But overall I think it's great that I can hear what he's singing. ''Not understanding shit of what that dude sings'' is one of the main reasons I don't listen to metal a lot. But this album has some GREAT lyrics.
I don't own a lot of metal albums, I usually have a ''download, listen for a week and then delete'' way of listening to metal but this album may get a spot on the shelf. Next to the 4 or so other metal albums I have.
4.5*

being able to understand lyrics is inconsequential. pig destroyer have pretty much indecipherable lyrics, but they are unbelievably well written
well unless you can't read of course

FadeToBlack ; I don't care about reading along while I'm listening to music.
Also, if you can't understand a word they're saying then it's usually because they don't have much to say (or they have much to say but they just wanna fuck with their listeners). Either way, I don't like it.
I also really enjoy the first song of the album. Best beginning of an album. Just balls to the wall.

Yep, a song about drag racing from Megadeth is a little odd.
"The Right to Go Insane" is a weird track, imo. I don't like the lyrics or melody much.
"Bite the Hand" reminds me of that NIN track/album/whatever.

@FadeToBlack:
There is a name for people like you :-)
It's called ''A Booklet Whore''.
It's all about the booklet with people like you. You're the reason articulating is done less and less in modern music. They want you to sit down and read like bitch while listening to their incomprehensible lyrics and you do it. That's why you're called a bookletwhore. It's only offensive if you want it to be really. It's not like you suck everybody's dick. You only suck the dick of the artist you need a booklet for. Figuratively speaking that is.
All the power to ya. :-D

I don't really read along with the lyrics, but I do appreciate artists that put art and creativity in their booklets. It's sad in this day of age that people don't appreciate the art that goes into the whole package. I am not speaking for everyone, but I mean, some fans want to know the lyrics and learn them. See what the song is about, just because you can't understand it by listening to it you know. Art and lyrics should not be lost in the music. I am usually more a fan of the music than the lyrics myself, but it is cool to understand what the song is about sometimes.

Exactly. And imo, The music and the artwork go hand in hand.
And as for Anand69, he is being an ignorant twat. Reading the lyrics is important, bands often have a lot to say

You're both right.
But seriously, there is no straight anwser to this: It's just an opinion. I don't like reading along, some people don't understand that so I make a joke about it. That's how I deal with everything in life. No point in getting frustrated over anything in life, that's my motto.

then you're gimping yourself out on some really good music/topics
