Also, check Pagan Altar's debut. Better than that of Witchfinder General imo.

Gotta love how wild and unrestrained for the time this album is.

Yeah, it really was pretty wild for the time.

Bloodsucker and Flight Of The Rat are so underrated, even among DP fans.

Agreed. They're surrounded by classics but they can still hold their own.
|

Bloodsucker is my second fave on here
|

Those two tracks are two of the 'classics'.

We all agree that the best one is Child in Time though

Wouldn't call them classics compared to 10-15 other songs, even though they are excellent tracks.

Same as Nero for me, the first being obviously Child In Time.

"Wouldn't call them classics compared to 10-15 other songs, even though they are excellent tracks."
Child in Time is the only song on here I would call a true classic but if we're saying those tracks (Bloodsucker & Flight of the Rat) are "surrounded by classics" then I'd consider them just as classic as those songs surrounding them (bar Child in Time, which is on another level). If you see what I'm getting at.

Oh yeah. When I said "surrounded by classics" I really meant MK II & III material not just this album so my bad. I also consider Speed King a classic considering that, apart from being awesome, it's one of their most well known songs and a live staple I think, especially in their pre-Machine Head days.

Isn't it just In Rock?

Both are correct, I think. If we want to be 100% correct, it's Deep Purple in Rock because that's how it was released. But everyone calls it In Rock, so either way one calls it it's fine.

wikipedia says it is Deep Purple in Rock and my iPod says the same so yeah, not realiable source but I'll stick to that
|

Actually, I had read somewhere that the album was originally named just "In Rock" but since the band title and the album title were so close to each other on the album cover, it became known and referred to as "Deep Purple In Rock". Both are correct, though, I think.
|
| |
Its just In Rock. The band name would appear twice if it was Deep Purple in Rock.
