I used to think "Death of an Interior Decorator" was pretty easily the weakest song here but recently it's come to hit me much harder than before.

The girls were all there, they traded their vows

The youngest one glared with furrowed brows

They tenderly kissed then cut the cake

The bride then tripped and broke the vase

The one you thought would spend the years

So perfectly placed below the mirror

Arriving late, you clean the debris

And walked into the angry sea"

^ That verse really gets to me.

A few of my friends in high school used to always talk about this band, does this still hold up now?

Absolutely. It's not super interesting or anything (though there's a fair amount of variety) but it's excellently constructed indie rock/pop with amazingly emotional songwriting. Admittedly it holds a lot of nostalgia for me but I still love it as much as I ever have.

Pleb you should check this, but honestly if I know you I think you'd like The Photo Album better.

Just checked the opener from here and enjoyed it.

Ocean much as I love The Photo Album I feel like that one is a lot less accessible than this, this is pretty much the essential album to start with for Death Cab unless you're going to do the whole discog chronologically.

Pleb this band isn't really riffy but this album is the closest you're gonna get to riffy with them, it has most of their loudest moments.

Yeah I mean this is definitely a safe choice to start with. I just personally think Pleb would like The Photo Album better cause the music he likes is generally more on the darker side

This is just as dark as The Photo Album imo, if not darker. The Stability EP is their darkest release though.

Still gave it a 4.5, but seriously, listened to Left and Leaving much?

I've only heard this, Plans, and The Photo Album. Dig them all hard, but Plans is my favorite for sure.

Never really understood why so many people love Plans so much, I mean this album and The Photo Album absolutely destroy it imo.
