yes he does. the live vocals are very accurate to the actual album. everything is really.

^^^I'm the opposite, I think it's awesome when a band can sound exactly the same live as they did on their album, or better even, Tool comes to mind.

^^^I probably would've enjoyed that too tbh, maybe I just haven't seen enough bands do that. I'm seeing Opeth and Enslaved in May, do they tend to improvise?

Never seen Enslaved, but I will be at that show. Opeth improvises solos and drums and keys and bass but the structures are the same, at least the one time I saw themThis Message Edited On 02.04.09

I really can't see where people are coming from with this.
The entire album flows extremely well, I can see why everyone is claiming this a classic. While the music perfectly reflects the "beauty and rage," as I quote the review, I can't find emotion or meaning in any of the instruments, and most disappointingly, the vocals.

I think I know what you guys mean, I too feel that there is something missing from this album, but I don't know really what that is. That is what keeps it from being a 5 for me. Album is still eargasmic though.
Vocals are ace
Music/Instruments are godly
Melodies are ace
I don't find anything wrong with this album, but somethng prevents me from giving it a 5.
I also wish it were like 4 minutes longer.

I think you guys misread my interpretation of the vocals. They rock. They're used perfectly as an extra instrument and an addition to the atmosphere of the album, but they're nothing beyond that. I can hardly understand any emotion or spirit behind the vocals, they're just there as a pretty shell to the song.
