I didn't say it was boring. Some of transitions feel kind of clumsy and there are some sections that feel moderately uneventful but besides that, I wouldn't necessarily call it dull.

Yeah, in almost all the work I've heard from him (whether it be in Edge of Sanity, Moontower, his Nightingale albums, etc.), the mastering has been traditionally high-quality.

Production is better, it's like a different beast entirely. It represents a 90's sense of dm, II feels more like something from the new millennium.
