Semp and There is a Hell isn't exactly great, but the annoying moments are basically gone and it's just a fairly average album with some good moments. Also, nice to hear them experimenting a bit more. Crucify Me is so good

There is no way Sempiternal is worse than this tho.

Sempiternal is miles better than this purely because there are fewer bad moments on it. It's also much nicer to listen to because this sounds really overdone and forced

Break it up, ladies. There's enough Deathcore to go around for everyone

There's never enough deathcore obviously

But to be fair, it's a trending genre right now, so i'm not surprised

As if we need more progressive power folk hardcore grind these days. Deathcore is the only source of innovation

Album Rating: 3.0
pff, you kidding me? there's so much Deathcore around that most bands are playing some pretty generic stuff, particularly the stuff that's the most popular. I don't really see anyone doing anything innovative within Deathcore other than play their same sound over and over and again

Lol I was totally joking. Ovid's Withering is deathcore and they are pretty out of the ordinary I might add however.

Oh i see. It's pretty hard to detect sarcasm on text based media in my case. Hmm, i've heard of the band, but never listened to them. Obviously there are exceptions, but the majority is lacking in creativity

Similar bands: Emperor
Looks sweet, will listen tonight. You sure it's even deathcore?
|
| |
Album Rating: 3.0
Wait someone said Emperor was similar? That's not very accurate. Ovid's Withering is deathcore at the base with djent like choppy stop start breakdowns, tech riffs, huge black metal symphonics and over an hour runtime to tell a concept story about Greek gods. There is black metal influence but don' think you'll find buzzsaw trance tremolo picking or low fi production.
To summarize....
