I do think this edges out American Idiot but both scratch that same itch for me

Every time I hear this album I have a hard time believing this is even the same band that now pumps out such embarrassing material

No cap on god Dookie is so fun to play on guitar, somehow a ton more enjoyable playing along with it. I've actually discovered a new love for some songs like Chump and Sassafras Roots just because of how fucking sick they are to play. Even Pulling Teeth feels different now.

When this came out I loved it.
Sony Walkman, Dookie on tape, 14yrs old walking to school and absolutely living it.
Then ‘Britpop’ happened and everything changed.

Bit surprised by the semi high ranking Zak but I like it. Did you ever get into any other albums by these guys? Can't see you being an American Idiot man.

Ello clay
As a result of my love for this at the time, I had Slappy Hours on CD and a tape copy of Kerplunk.
I’d moved on by the time Insomniac was released but loved Geek Stink Breath when it came out. Loved it!!! In fact I do distinctly remember now playing Brain Stew a lot in my bedroom so maybe my memories a little ‘stewed’ Maybe I had a borrowed copy?
Then the next two albums came out and I wasn’t invested at all.
I did buy International Superhits (Maria for me is still quality, a top 5 tune from the band)
As for American Idiot, I did buy it on CD when it was released as it was a ‘nostalgia’ trip thing for me and I did/still do think the title track is an absolute fucking belter.
