I know it’s ‘only’ an interlude of sorts but it’s striking just how much of an oddity Silhouette is, a quirkily produced piano recital/solo thing which is somehow very inkeeping with the overall atmospheric vibe... I’ve really grown to appreciate its presence.

It’s also dawned on me how Forest of October is almost on the same level as Black Rose Immortal in the ‘nonsensically brilliant in it’s beautifully clumsy imperfection’ sort of way. Some of the transitions shouldn’t work, they don’t REALLY work, but I love it regardless.

Omg those two, plus Twilight, are top tier Opeth to me. Especially because of the clumsy imperfection Demon, nicely put. This mysterious, organic vibe is to die for.

Yeah I wasn’t implying it was intentional on their part, just reminiscent in certain ways when playing it back, to me at least.
