When that heavy section kicks in on Absent, it's just the best payoff of one of the best buildups.

So I wanna jam this tomorrow, but is there anywhere that the two discs can be downloaded and played at the same time and not as disc 1 and disc 2? Cause i read they're supposed to be played at the same time.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dXFGmjJtPi0 - this will do it, although I confess I have only ever listened to the both of them together once. It's a fantastic album with the two elements separate and together.

I don't really want to listen to the two together again until I can find a way of playing the two together in surround sound gloriousness. But then I might doom myself to knowing life can't get better from there.

Yeah I bought their first album and I'm looking at the two discs like "wtf am I supposed to do with this?"

There's a 320 rip floating around somewhere with both properly synced together but it somehow sounds worse to the 320 rip of the seperated discs I have

If you physically own the two discs, your best bet would be to rip them both, do some simple Audacity magic and just sync them up manually

Remember to export it as a .wav and play with the stereo panning to keep most of the quality intact, if you're trying to fit them both on a single disc

I actually prefer Wake/Lift to this album. Not because of length but some of this feels slightly disjointed, more so on the post-rock side.

You can tell on this one that they just don't know how to end a song. Some of these just go on and on.
