"don't you know the flow of this album is objectively bad though"

There's no thing as an objectively bad flow, for me this flows perfectly.

calm down i was just making a connection to potsy's comments on a moon shaped pool. although to be serious the flow of the album is kinda problematic (certainly not "objectively" so though) as it's SO all over the place (almost as many genres as there are songs...). on the other hand, maybe there lies its flow...

I love this band and album but will agree that one of the few flaws on this album is the "flow" for lack of a better term

I could see that as a fair criticism, it's a crazy record for sure.

It's certainly up there, but then I have to think about Angel Dust & The Real Thing that's where things get tricky for me lol

Angel Dust and The Real Thing are both perfect (especially if you add Cowboy Song to The Real Thing). This one is definitely my 3rd favorite, but no higher.

That sounds about right for me too. Cowboy song is one my favorites FNM tunes. I wouldn't blink an eye if someone said this was their favorite though, great album. The Real Thing was the most memorable FNM record for me when I first heard it (lotta memories with that one) but if I had to sit and think about it I'd probably say Angel Dust.

it's all about generations Jeff.....The Real Thing is easily my favorite FNM, as it is with most of my friends as well.....the younger generation(s) enjoy Angel Dust by a landslide

Dunno Titan bro, I think we're pretty much the same generation but this is by far my favorite FNM. But in general you're probably right I guess.

I loved Angel Dust when it came out too, but I have a hard time wrapping my brain around which one I think is better now that It's been 20 years? Lol. See, if you asked me my favorite I'd always say The Real Thing. Me and my buddies used to crank that record all the time. It was fun times man.. a lot of my adolescence memories was listening to that fucking album lol.. Shitty car pooling, clubs, concerts/chicks and dumb friends doing dumb things... "Epic" was the anthem for shit to go down!

It was the party record for me, but as I've gotten older I find myself listening to Angel Dust more than I used to. Different albums, different themes; both classics. The Real Thing is still way more fun to listen to. Angel Dust feels a lot more mature as an album. I don't know if that necessarily makes it better or worse. Newer generation will probably like Angel Dust more because it doesn't have the 80's attached to it lol
