No one said they don't Isis, Ford84. Isis fucking rule, I just wouldn't put them in the same category as my top 3.

And most bands that copy Meshuggah suck balls. And mostly every Meshuggah album is incredible as hell. I recommend everything by them except for Contradictions Collapse.

But most of their albums are growers, so don't be thrown off if you don't fully appreciate their albums on first listen.

i love C33 (duh)

but it's really bad to start with. i thought it was fucking boring when i first heard it, it wasn't until i'd gotten into a few of their other albums and gained more of a taste for long songs and sludge metal and other patience-testing stuff then came back to it that i 'got it'. now i can't listen to the first track without sitting down and listening to the whole damn thing, i get so wrapped up in it

Catch 33 is my favorite album by them, but it is probably the worst place to start aha, it's really not an accessible album at all but it's fucking brilliant/perfect imo. And Thomas Haake is not a human being, that's what I've come to realize after years of listening to Meshuggah

i don't think any of them are human. i heard a theory once that they are all aliens attempting to fit into human society. i'm inclined to believe that
