I don't know how trying sounds nowadays but I actually prefer the drumming in nightside. Faust killed it on that whereas there's some sloppiness here. Granted some stuff on here is higher bpm than anything on nightside

Dunno about sloppiness, but I much prefer the drums on this. still crazy these guys were doing this stuff in their early/mid 20s though. Ihsahn miles ahead of his time

Just realized my phone autocorrected trym to trying lol. The drums aren't anything spectacular on nightside but everything is just so tight. Nothing sounds out of place. I feel like here trym is playing above his head sometimes. Gets noticeably behind in the beginning of ye entranceperium and some of the double kick sections sound a little off at the faster parts

I kinda hate how every instrument here is competing for the same headspace. It feels claustrophobic where Nightside sounded expansive. Anyone else hear that?
