I saw this material at Governor's Ball before it came out (I think maybe New Slaves had played SNL, but at least four songs were total debuts) and I thought, "This guy's done for." Hated it at that time

so we just not gonna talk about it? lol

I think I'd rather not lmao. It's just pathetic at this point

Literally. I think of this album as the beginning of the end from a musical standpoint. He has no idea how to make good music anymore, and he also should commit himself. People need to know when to just bow out for a few years.

I said to one of my friends earlier he's beyond reproach. He's too far gone and we just need to stop giving it attention cuz that's all he wants

Yeah, he's like an attention black hole. Depressing as fuck, the fall off is to Greek tragedy levels.

3.6 would suggest you've since (for better or for worse) come around to it, tho, right? lol

i think TLOP was the real beginning of the end. yeezus is a relatively cohesive record, but TLOP is like a manic collage of different ideas that don't fit together, introduced the "editing the album 3000 times after it's out," etc.

TLOP is better than this and Fantasy. His last truly great album

i'm not big on the project as a whole but tlop definitely has peak kanye moments, father stretch my hands and highlights are some of his best

It was really only something something Light Beams, Father Stretch My Hands and No More Parties in LA that I particularly enjoyed on TLOP. I never got the hype for that record.
Edit: Forgot that Kid See Ghosts happened after this. That was a rare and momentary return to form imo.

Gotta be honest, I've only ever jammed The College Dropout, Graduation, 808s and Heartbreak and MBDTF in full and love them all. Should probably get this, Late Registration and TLOP sometime soon lol.

You will love Late Reg. TLOP to me is the closest Kanye got to his classic sound while incorporating more modern (for the time) influences. This is definitely more ambitious and has some great tracks but I really gotta be in the mood for it
