Pretty sure we discussed swerve city like a week ago, not sure if it was in this thread, but most people agreed that it was bottom-of-the-barrel dtones
what happened to you is boring, that chorus is lazy as hell

Na I'm gonna wait.
Reading stuff online like 'their best album in 20 years' consistently is making me unbelievably hyped, though.

Yeah Idk man, you seem like a hot-take machine tbh (weren't you the guy who gave Crack Up a 1/5?)
I would categorize most of the choruses on Ohms as far lazier than What Happened To You - which, unlike most of the tracks on Ohms, boasts a massive hook and melody to carry it. Not that I'm dissing on Ohms' choruses per se, but they aren't exactly ear-catching most of the time. I find myself being far more invested in the overall atmosphere and sonics of the album than its choruses.

All I wanna know is, is it better than this? Please say yes.

As it stands now, my top 5 would look like this:
1: White Pony.
2: Ohms.
3: Koi No Yokan.
4: Diamond Eyes.
5: Saturday Night Wrist.
I can see Ohms overtaking the first spot in the future, tho. Not afraid to say it lmao.

Hardly a hot take machine regarding deftones tbh, apart from my opinion on de
it's not like koi's average on here is ridiculously high or anything, so pretty sure a lot of people wouldn't rank it that high in discography

I think you guys are riding the hype really hard on this lol. I get it too, it's awesome to get wrapped up in the excitement of a new album -- especially a new Deftones album. But it's way too early after a day to be acting like this is potentially their best album. We don't really know what the longevity will be like. For me I doubt it'll overtake the top 2 though. Urantia, Genesis, and Ohms are just merely 'good". Most everything else is like an 8 or higher for me, but Idk if this has a definitive standout track like Hole In the Earth or Change.

WP is an eternal masterpiece and nothing will change that, but man Ohms is just so fucking good. When they retire and we all look at their discography in retrospective, I honestly believe that it will be regarded as one of their best, most complete records. And yeah, it's been a day, but some albums just click instantly. Idk man, I'm definitely riding the hype wave and I love Deftones, so don't listen to me that much; but I can't imagine feeling less enthusiastic about it anytime soon.

It's rated the 4th highest in their discography here (I mean Ohms will drop a lot, calling it now).

Biggest freefall deftones drop belongs to kny which went from 4.7 to 4.0 lmao in one day

Diamond eyes actually started lower at 4.5 but still stayed at 4.2 somehow

.7 in one day? That's pretty rough lmao. I wonder where the new one will level out. Someone said 4.2. I want to say 4 but I feel like most people will overrate it initially and never amend their ratings which will inflate the score a lot.
