I was wondering why it had so few views. Shit is solid, big bouncy riffs

Between Genesis and Ohms, I'm still surprised Carpenter is getting this type of clarity on a 9-stringer.
My exposure to the guitarists utilizing the same style of barritones usually sound so muddy and inaudible, damn near.
Love how heavy the chords are during the verses, all without sounding like they drown out the other instruments in the song.

Carpenter is underrated af, agreed.

Yeah, it's like the riffs have been isolated inside an echo chamber, if you know what I mean

Probably the work of Terry Date.
Idk. I don't know a whole lot about producing or even tuning and all that stuff.
I just know my ears like what they hear from this song. A lot.

They sound huge and still allow all the other instrumentation clarity, Terry has worked wonders.

Honestly the intro is better than the actual song

I like that they also retain the synth from the intro.

Honestly not even mad about his opinion.
Deftones discography varies for literally everybody.

I think my problem with Genesis is the same as Ohms: Where is the chorus?!? The vocals and production are great but nothing about this really hooks me. I want either a bit more intensity or a memorable melody to sink my fangs into

Only album of theirs I've ever been genuinely underwhelmed by was 'Gore'. And even that album has its fair share of fans on here.

The chorus is there, just less emphasised.
I'm fine with it personally, really like both singles and I'm in love with the general sound as well.

" Where is the chorus?!? The vocals and production are great but nothing about this really hooks me. I want either a bit more intensity or a memorable melody to sink my fangs into"
That 'crawling out of the asheeeees' hook really doesn't do anything for you? Man, that sucks. I like it a lot. And I love the bridge that leads into the last hook. They didn't have anything like that on Gore, but they did in spades on DE and KNY.
If you're looking for a catchy hook, I think 'Urantia' will definitely be your thing then. I thought that was going to be the album's first single tbh.

Same.
'Ohms' sounded like a mixture of SNW and 'Swerve City' for me. I seem to be one of the few that really loves the latter from KNY.
And 'Genesis' seems like this really awesome mesh of KNY with the guitar tuning/riffs reminding me a lot of the self-titled album.
I'm on cloud nine with these songs. I really am. And I'm super stoked that it appears these guys at least appear to have had one more great album in them.
Gore really worried me.

The entire song is so hypnotic, could make you OBE
And yeah, the bridge before the last chorus is absolutely magical
